FAQ
What is a corporate startup studio?
In general, a “startup studio” is a structure dedicated to the creation of startups. A startup studio is considered “corporate” when it is backed by a large corporation, which allows the studio to finance the creation of startups that are strategic for the company and are driven by outside entrepreneurs.
Why create a corporate startup studio?
With today’s markets evolving at an increasingly fast rate, large corporations are looking to launch new activities more rapidly.
But when those activities are too forward-thinking or are outside a company’s core competencies, the company is often ill-equipped to develop the new ideas.
Depending on the concept, the activities can be developed in the form of startups, and thereby benefit from all of the inherent advantages: independence, agility, efficiency and, especially, entrepreneurial energy.
The solution: create a structure that can mechanize the creation and development of these startups while still benefiting from the unique strengths of large organizations.
This structure is the corporate startup studio.
What is our approach?
We think through the concepts, perform small- and large-scale tests, and then create companies to support and develop the most promising of these concepts. And we do it with a strong contribution by our corporate partners, who respect the independence of both Wefound and the startups and their decision-making process.
Our approach is defined in partnership with the corporation. It can be relatively broad and lead to the creation of project groups around specific topics.
